Formative planning for better STEM learning outcomes

Guided by experts in assessment for learning, on this course you’ll plan to gauge your learners’ thinking, clarify learning goals, and fine tune your teaching so you are better placed to progress your students’ understanding, both within and between lessons.

You’ll find out how to identify learners’ starting points, exemplify success, and develop your classroom questioning to tune your teaching approach and respond to student learning.

In the final part of this course, you’ll look at medium-term planning and the benefits of working with colleagues as you shift your practice.

The course is for teachers, curriculum leaders, teaching assistants, newly qualified teachers (NQTs), trainee teachers and others involved in the education of young people. The course material is applies to educators working at all phases of education: primary, secondary and further education (ages 5-19 years).
